When it comes to storytelling in print magazines, the article’s manuscript is just the beginning. During my time at Vogue I was tasked with brainstorming display copy—that is, headlines, deks, photography captions, and pull quotes—for front of book culture stories, center of book features, and the monthly cover stories. The editorial process is deeply collaborative, but below is a selection of the creative copy for which I can accept credit. The captions indicate the display copy I authored.
